100g strong cheddar cheese grated

150ml soured cream

200g packet nachip wafers or mild tortilla chips

2 tomatoes

5 tsp sliced pickled jalapeno peppers

soured cream garnish (optional)

wire shell on third set of runners in roasting oven

Blend together the cheese and soured cream.

Arrange the chips on a suitable ovenproof serving plate or baking sheet layered with the cheese and cream.

Bake in the roasting ovenfor 5 minutes until the cheese has melted and the chips are hot.

Seed and chop the tomatoes.

If you have heated the chips on a baking sheet scrape them on to a warmed serving plate.

Scatter with the seeded and chopped tomatoes jalapenos and a few blobs of soured cream if you like then start nibbling.

An informal texmex starter to keep going back to over a drink with friends.
