lace biscuits

These are biscults I return to time and time again both to serve with puddings and as a teatime treat. They are marvelously easy to make and they taste sensational. As with other biscuits that are meant to spread out thinly in the oven (eg brandy snaps) they dont work well in efficient fan ovens. Turn off the fan if you can.

1 tbspn plain flour sifted

220g caster sugar

1/4 tpsn salt

110g butter

1 large egg lightly beaten

1/4 tspn vanilla essence
