150g sago

600ml milk

100g sugar

1 teaspoon cardamom powder

2 tablespoons cashew nuts

150ml evapourated milk

Wash the sago drain and allow to stand for 15 minutes.

In the meantime mix the milk and sugar and bring to the boil.

Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Take off the heat and add the cardamom powder cashew nuts and evapourated milk.

Cover and reserve.

Add 300ml water to the sago and bring to the boil.

Reduce the heat and simmer until the sago is cooked.

Take off the heat cool slightly and pour in the milk mixture.

Serve cold adjusting the consistency with some water if necessary.

This simple dessert is turned into something special by the addition of spices and nuts. It also makes an unusual breakfast food.
