Categories : Cookies Rolled
Amount Measure Ingredient — Preparation Method
——– ———— ——————————–
2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
1 cup sour cream
3 eggs — beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla OR 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
1 teaspoon baking soda
5 cups flour plus flour for rolling out cookies
1/2 teaspoon salt
Frosting
2 pounds powdered sugar
1 cup shortening (not butter flavored as this
will tint the frosting yellow)
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
Cream the sugar and the shortening. Add the sour cream, eggs, and
flavoring.
In a small bowl, mix the baking soda, flour, and salt. Add to the sugar
mixture and mix well.
Chill for at least one hour. Dough is very tender.
Roll out 1/4″ thickness, using as little flour as possible. (Too much flour

Bake 10 minutes at 350
