600ml full fat milk
4 tablespoons basmati rice
about 6 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder
2 tablespoons flaked almonds
2 teaspoons sultanas
2 tablespoons cashew nuts chopped
2 teaspoons chirongi nuts
Bring the milk to the boil in a heavy pan and simmer on a low heat until it becomes thick and creamy
In the meantime cook the rice in a little water until mushy.
Drain and reserve.
When the milk is done add all the other ingredients and take off the heat.
Chill well and serve.
A sweet from Gujarat similar to a rice pudding but thinner.
Serves 4
