Indian Liquorice Tea (Mulethiwali Chai)

2 small pieces liquorice root

2 cm piece ginger bruised

750 ml water

2 Indian teabags

Sugar

Milk

Add the liquorice and the ginger to the water and bring to the boil.

Simmer for 3 minute and add the teabags.

Tum off the heat cover and allow to stand for 5 minutes.

Strain and discard the roots.

Serve with sugar and milk to taste.

This is a more medicinal tea than refreshing tea, but it makes a pleasant alternative to many remedies.
