Ingredients / Directions
5 cup(s)s of thinly sliced peeled cooking apples
3/4 cup(s) of chopped walnuts
1/4 cup(s) of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1 cup(s) of all purpose flour
1/2 cup(s) of sugar
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup(s) of evaporated milk
1/3 cup(s) of butter or margarine
melted
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream optional
Ground cinnamon optional Lightly grease a 2 quart square baking dish. Spread the apples in prepared dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup(s) of the walnuts.
In a small bowl stir together 1/4 cup(s) of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
sprinkle over the apples.
In a medium mixing bowl stir together the flour
1/2 cup(s) of sugar
and baking powder.
In a small mixing bowl combine the egg
evaporated milk and melted butter or margarine. Stir into the flour mixture until smooth. Pour evenly over apples
sprinkle with remaining walnuts.
Bake in a 325 degrees oven for 50 to 55 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. To serve
cut into squares. Serve warm. If desired
top with whipped cream or ice cream and sprinkle with additional cinnamon.
