Ingredients / Directions
6 ripe bananas
4 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
Juice of 1 small lemon
3 tbsp butter
cut into small bits
2 tbsp dark rum or 1 teaspoon rum flavoring
1 pint vanilla ice cream Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Peel the bananas. With a sharp knife
slice them lengthwise in half. Place the halves in a small baking dish just large enough to hold them in one layer.
Sprinkle the bananas with the 3 to 4 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup and the lemon juice
dot them with the 2 to 3 tbsp butter
and drizzle the dark rum or rum flavoring on top. Bake the bananas until they are soft and the topping is bubbly
about 10 minutes.
Serve the bananas hot from the oven
on individual plates
with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
