minced lamb patties

300g lean lamb mince stir fried and drained

300g potatoes boiled peeled and mashed

2 teaspoons turmeric powder

1 teaspoon chilli powder

1 teaspoon allspice powder

4 tablespoons coriander leaves chopped finely

2 tablespoons mint leaves chopped finely

1 large onion chopped finely

2 teaspoons ginger paste

2 teaspoons garlic paste

2 teaspoons lemon juice

sunflower oil for deep frying

300g fresh breadcrumbs

salt

Make a soft dough with all the ingredients except the breadcrumbs and oil.

Make 8 equal sized balls of the mixture.

Shape each ball into a heart and reserve

Heat the oil in a wok or kadai.

When it is nearh smoking reduce the heat.

Press each heart into the breadcrumbs and deep fry or 2 at a time until golden.

Alternatively shallow fry them in a little oil until crisp.

Serve with tomato ketchup.
